I love my 4080 12" sub box for the G35 Sedan

Just wanted to give out props to 4080 for making such a great box that fits great in the sedan, sounds awesome, and is really easy to install. The item was sent in a huge box with a ton of styrofoam peanuts, so you dont have to worry about receiving damaged goods.

I was a bit worried about how a single 12 would sound vs having two 10's (my previous setup was 2 Kicker L5 10" subs). But I was amazed at how great the Rockford Fosgate P3 12" sounded with the 4080 box.

I am now a happy camper that I have my trunk space back.

I do have a couple of questions if anyone can answer them.

1. Previously I had my amp installed on the sub box. Well with the 4080 box I had to move the amp. I was able to mount it to the back of my seat, but i am not sure how long it will hold up. I used a 4"x4" piece of wood behind the metal brackets (the same side as the seats) and then drove a screw through it to hold one side up. the otherside (because of the shape of the amp) is going into the plastic piece where the arm rest goes down (but its not on the middle of the arm rest, its on the plastic part that you do no see unless you tear the backing off of the rear part of the trunk. if that makes any sense. Was wondering how others installed their amps and any tips that anyone can give me.

2. How do I get rid of styrofoam peanuts. I have a ton of them and I don't want to just trash them. Can I take them anywhere where they can re-use them???

I believe I saw someone mount a sub amp right on top of the stock Bose amp
May want to check if theres adequate space there; that would be the best spot IMO

4080s box looks awesome but I dont really want to swing that much cash so he inspired me to take up fiberglassing and Ill soon have my own attempt at a custom box (2 boxes actually, one sub, and one placeholder for a computer)

most peanuts are now bio-friendly (they are starch). Try putting water on them, and they may melt. A little salt and butter spray is good too, lol. congrats on the new box too!

Thanks for the tip, I did know about some packing peanuts being made of starch, but I knew the ones I had were not. I ended up just calling the UPS Store, and the one that I live near recycles them, so I just dropped it off there.

BTW... I did get my amp remounted, I took it to a local audio shop and they mounted a piece of wood to the metal bracing on the back of the rear seats, then mounted the amp onto that, they did a very good job, it now looks clean in the trunk and there are no wires that you can see other then the rca wires.

Here are the pics of my 4080 box and Amp Installed, I wasn't able to get pics of the actually install of the AMP. You can see in the amp pictures where my previous sub box slid around to much and created a whole in the trunk filler material or what ever its called.

This is quoted from a post that 4080 made a while ago.

The 10" sub box has an internal volume of .89 cuft. while the larger 12" box has over 1.1 cuft.

trunk space?

Just wondering, can you still fit a set (or two) of golf clubs into the trunk w/ the speaker box in place? I know, it should probably fit...but I need to be sure before I buy one. I'd hate to have to remove the box every time I wanted to play...

Many thanks!

How can I contact 4080? He posted on NASIOC as Enzo stating that a similar enclosure would be made for the STi. I have 5+ posts but still can not send 4080 a PM. Is there a website? Thanks!

That was not me (Enzo). I do not make them for the Sti. I will be making them for the Corvette C6. I did receive your IM and replied.
