In your pics it look like the OEM plenum gasket is still in place under the MD spacer, but Tony says to discard it and it also says that in the instructions. Did you remove it before putting the upper plenum back on?

no offense to the OP but why do people continue to install spacers on revup engines with the stock lower plenum?

According to his sig, he has an 07 5AT, which is the non-revup engine.

How much more is involved to install the iso thermal copper spacer? It says to use this spacer if it snows in your area... I don't drive the G in the snow but I do drive her in the cold weather, is it necessary for me to get the copper spacer kit?
thanks

The MD instructions say you can replace it or put the MD spacer over it in case you sell the car and want to take it out. Just put mine in today and am quoting directly from the instructions.

+1 - my MD instructions say it's you're choice...leave it in or remove. knowing i'd only have mine in for a year or so and then be removing to sell my car, i opted to leave it so i'd know where it is. no problems to date.

How come in the instructions he has on his page he doesn't have anywhere listed where he applied the LOCTITE or put any sealent on the plenum spacer? Aren't you supposed to do that also?

as far as loctite, refer to Step 10. feel free to use it...can't hurt.

MD instructions say to use it and they include a small tube. i've seen some spacers that don't come with any or mention it. whatever makes you happy...not going to be the end of the world if you don't. torque your bolts right and check them again a few months later if you need to.

sealant is new to me. don't recall the MD guide mentioning anything about sealant nor it coming with any. guess the gaskets is sufficient. but again, guess it can't hurt if you feel the need.

step one on the last part says they installed sealant but i guess you are right you can use it to ensure proper function but it wont hurt it without it. Anybody else use sealant on here for their spacers?
