DIY -Polished Radiator Cooling Plate

Materials needed:
- Aluminium sheet (40" x 8" x .031") .....I got it for $9.54 from Speedy Metals
- Stencil of a rad cooling plate
- Aluminium polishing kit...... you can get a mini set from Harbour freight or princess auto
- Dremel cut off disks
- Drill and 11/32" bit
- Metal shears

Step one:

Copy a cooling plate off a buddy and cut out the stencil to see how much you need to sand and polish

Step two:

Sand the aluminium in order to get it ready for polishing... I started from 320 --> 420 --> 600 --> 1500 -->2000

Step three:

Polish the area you just sanded. If you dont have heavy duty polishing equipment then you can use a small polshing set from Harbour Freight or princess auto

Step four:

trace your stencil outline on the section you just polished and cut it out using tin shears

Step five:

Cut out the centre portion using a dremel and a small cut off disk

Drill the holes using an 11/32" bit

Sand the rough edges using a grinding wheel and some sand paper

I'll pull mine off this week and make a stencil and try to get the demensions up for people/mail people copies of the stencil. I like DIY things and helping other members out. I have the Titanium UR panel. I got it off ebay for about $40 if people just want to buy them. I def like the DIY idea better tho.

In for stencil, considering it looks like these can't be found on eBay anymore. Unless I'm overlooking then perhaps.
