From what I've seen those codes are usually from either an exhaust leak around the test pipes, or a failing O2 sensor

That is the resolution to the issue that one guy found on the Titan forums as well. I will check around those flanges this weekend for any small leaks and replace if necessary. Thanks for your input!

I have been getting the same code now P1273, I checked for plenum leaks and they were fine, then I notice there is a leak on my megan racing test pipes where the flex part are. So I guess thats why it threw a code?

Certainly wouldn't expect to find an exhaust leak there...

Well I had both 1273 and 1283 throwing and replaced the manifold to test pipe gaskets and cannot feel any other exhaust leaks. 1283 still comes back. Any other ideas?

Most likely a failing O2 sensor. Do you have access to an Uprev cable so you can datalog the A/F ratio?

My dyno tuner, spent some time searching for a the leak and found nothing. He also looked at fuel trims while he was driving it and saw no issues. I had decent gains on the tune do we just blocked that off. As its not a constant issue, it only dips "out of range" once in a while. Since my original post til now no issues.

If my sensor was bad it would be known by now. I did recently have to weld up my axle back pipe, but that should give me a fault for both banks, not a single one.

I know its not the real way to fix it but it hasn't been an issue and since we are talking about modding cars here, factory numbers aren't really used.

No. I should of had him look for that when he tuned it down at Z1 Motorsports.

I have tried to notice when the car does it. I am speculating but it seems to happen when i let the vehicle coast down slowly while in gear and then I lightly apply the throttle...then it pops on.

But all of that is hearsay until I can see data.

Seymore, could I possibly see some things with my app I use on my old android phone (and bluetooth dongle) Car Gauge Pro? I had set up a screen that could show the voltage coming out of the o2's.

Mine comes and leaves...it's gone again (the engine codes) and i feel the power back at the wheels but i know it's coming from an exhaust leak. Will update here when I put the new gaskets on, had to custom make a set that aren't working well on the connector of art pipes to manifolds. These problems started after i bottomed out on ice pretty good

I'm not sure about that APP, never used it so I can't say how accurate it is.

Your issue actually sounds very similar to one I ran into with an 06 350z recently. Tuned the car, everything was great.. 3 weeks later threw a P1283. Verified no leaks, couldn't find anything wrong. Finally loaned the guy a cipher cable so he could drive around and datalog until it did it. Took a while but i found an inconsistency in the logs, when he was cruising at 2400 rpms partial throttle, just maintaining speed the B2 AFR's would run rich for a couple seconds.. Couldn't find anything else wrong with it, and at ALL other points it ran perfectly. Talked him into replacing the primary O2 sensor and its been fine since.

I'd recommend contacting Z1 and let them know you're popping codes and see what they can do to fix it..

So one of the guys from the facebook groups has been battling this issue as well and ended up taking his car to the dealer.

They told him to pull 2 fuses for 10 mins which appeared to resolve the problem off of what he's saying.

He's reported no more CEL after 100 miles.

In quote: "Those of you who are having the issue with code p1283 I have figured it out!

Originally thinking it was an o2 issue I replaced them. Code was still present so I checked for vacuum leaks exhaust leaks etc. nothing I cleaned maf and car was performing better. Code came back. Then I thought my ECM was going bad? Did a little research and I mean a lot by that talking with nissan and infiniti. They said just reset code. Well I did the obd2 reset didn't work I did the pedal reset didn't work and I did the battery reset didn't work. Come to find out the ECM has 2 fuses one under good by battery and one in driver side fuse box. PULL THEM BOTH FOR 10min and then codes are gone. (Remember the o2 was replaced) needless to say my cars power is back drove over 100mi and no codes. The ECM must be fully reset to clear this code. It worked gas mpg is back power and performance is back and I am finally code free after a few months. Hope this helps everyone else with this problem"

I'm willing to try... What does this do to correct the problem? Reset long term fuel trims? I'll go do it now and report how many miles it takes for my CEL to come back hahaah.

Any risk of clearing an UpRev reflash by doing this?
