Anyone running Rotella T6 Motor Oil

So Ive swtiched lately from Mobil 1 to Rotella T6 and so far so good. I've discussed this with other people who have no problems with it in their cars, trucks, boats and motorcycles with wet clutches. So its in my truck, Acura, ATV;s and UTV also. BUT the car im picking up Tuesdat has had Mobil 1 since day 1 and has 120k miles. I feel I'd be safe switching but wanted to see if anyone made a switch on their cars also. Im in Socal so I dont experience cold temps. Oil Gurus please chime in

If that's an honest 120K with full synthetic I would recommend you keep it! Never heard of this other brand before... Check out Bobistheoilguy.com.

Never heard of it but I googled it and found this.

/ /> Shell Rotella T is a line of heavy duty engine lubrication products produced by Shell Oil Company. The line includes engine oils, gear oils and coolants. The oil carries both the American Petroleum Institute (API) diesel "C" rating as well as the API gasoline engine "S" rating. Ratings differ based on the oil. Furthermore, Shell technicians do NOT recommend Rotella oil for gasoline vehicles with catalytic converters.[1] Rotella T 5w-40 meets both the API CJ-4 and SM specifications. It can therefore be used in Gasoline as well as diesel engines.[2]

I wouldn't use it in my G37S

I made the switch from Mobil 1 to Rotella T6 in my Legacy GT. A lot of the Subaru community uses it and I haven't heard one bad review. My experience was my LGT engine was eating the Mobil 1 about a quart every 4000 miles. I finally bit and made the switch and have yet to eat any oil using T6. I've been using it for two years now and the engine 100% runs smoother on the T6 than Mobil 1.

Oh and the previous owner of my LGT used only Mobil 1 for the first 40k. I wouldn't hesitate to put it in my G.

People should read bobtheoilguyforums. 99% of car owners have the slightest clue regarding motor oils but reading these forums can educate anyone who really cares. I posted on bobs forum and got great feedback. I wanted to see who is using it here.

Rotella is robust oil since it's designed for diesels. But IMHO the 5w-40 is a pretty big viscosity spread to cover. And 40 weight is a bit thick for the G to use

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Rotella has other weights. Not sure off the top of my head what they are but I'm pretty sure Rotella does. I'd give it a try but I'm going with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach in regards to my G. She runs fine with Mobil 1.

Any followup on this? How did the Rotella T6 work out for you? Are you still running it since then?

Rotella is very popular with the German vehicles. I use it in my Audi per recommendations and since it's already been in the car.
I wouldn't use it in the G though.

I've been running T5 in my diesel for a while now and the oil analyses are getting cleaner and cleaner as the changes with T5 continue... Idk how this is so cheap, oh wait, no marketing antics.

Many of lads use a brand of Rottela T in their CBR1100XX. I use only Motul in my CBR so I haven`t tried it yet. A close friend swears by Rottela in his BlackBird. I tend to use Mobil in my G. My friend just bought a Subaru and is tarting it up in the HP dept. I am not sure what he is using. He will most likely follow the Suby owners site.
