I hate to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone have the pictures from this thread?

Also, where can you get these retainer keys?

When I had mine stolen, I took other measures... Instead of fastening them to the car, I just wired them into the alarm.

I used some magnetic reed switches. (the kind used as door/window sensors for home alarms), and spliced them into the hood/pin switch. I glued some rare-earth-magnets to the clears, so when the clears are in, everything is ok... Pull the clears out, and the alarm trips...

I also replaced my stock horns with 139db air-horns, so if the alarm trips, EVERYBODY will know....

Only costed me like $10 for the reed-switches and rare-earth magnets, and about 15 minutes to wire them together. I was thinking to cut the power to the bulbs, and replace with a quick-connect, so if somebody decides to yank em and pull, the quick-connect will disconnect, so I don't have to worry about them tearing out the entire friggen harness.

Wow, this is an old thread.
I remember it, because at the time, there was a rash of people stealing them and selling them on Ebay.

What Ducatiguy did, was to drill a hole thru both tabs,(upper and lower) on the back of the clear corner. Then, he took a piece of steel wire, and fabricated a pin, for any better description, that went down into both of the holes. This prevented anyone from just tugging on the clear corner. It would no longer be removeable unless you went thru the wheel well.

Problem with that was, if someone was really a d*ckhead, they could do more damage to the bumper opening trying to rip the corner off than the cost of a pair of clear corners.

Others have done something similar by inserting a tie wrap rather than the pin approach.

Good luck either way.

I knew the picture's host probably wasn't valid anymore, but I had hoped someone had perhaps saved them on their comp and then could repost them. No luck I guess. At least it was worth a try.

Thanks for the review of what was done GR8TG35!

anyone have pics for this? My corners are mounted in aftermarket bumper and do not secure with tabs. I have them held in now with wire wrapped around the tabs. Id like to see pics from this method to try a cleaner look. Thanks
