0-60 times with Vortech?

Does anyone have any 0-60 times with a vortech kit on a non rev-up 6spd engine? Can't decide if I should go to an WRX STI or keep the G and take it add a supercharger.

0-60 Times arent important when it comes to FI.

I'd focus more on your 1/4 mile.

It's all gonna depend on how you control/tune the boost.

With some slicks on, Im assuming you'll do the 1/4 mile in low 12 second?

Im not an expert, but that's my educated guess.

I don't have any sort of official times or 0-60 measuring equipment, but from the other cars I've driven with fast 0-60 times, my car feels like low 4 seconds 0-60 on street tires

You can expect 4.8 if you know how to launch and don't have excessive tire spin. Low 4's is highly doubtfull.

The new stock 2007 G35 sedan does it in 5.2 according to the reviews.

What makes you think a ~365-400 WHP Vortech Supercharged G will do only half a second better?

I can only show you my list of mods and have you come up with your own conclusion. I'm running 295 competition tires with a 3.9 final drive and around 470-480whp on a dynojet at 12 psi.

It pushes you back noticably harder than a C6 vette does and they're like what 4.7 seconds?

it's all about the tires, gearing, lightweight drivetrain, low weight (I drive a Z btw with lots of weigh saving mods), and a lot of power.

If I can't do low 4's, than I see no possible way a ferrari F430 that weighs about same as my car and has less power (410whp and 268tq on a dynojet) can do it under 4 seconds with still having to make a gear change just like we do.

You have proof to back that up?

Im sure reviewers could possibly get better times on their tests, but stating it's BS without any proof is just dumb.

I never said he had a new G, but my point is that the new G sedan to the old G sedan/coupe arent that far off performance wise.

You need to state facts...

Besides, 0-60 times arent important. 1/4 miles times are much more important and show us true potential (ofcourse this all ties in with the potential of the driver too).

1/4 mile vortech times are generally low 13s

sentry65 w/ 3.9 final drive is a little different! A lot of power for a vortech combined w/ steep final gear - low 4s (or even sub-4) sounds reasonable.

Sub-13 sec 1/4 mi and sub-4 sec 0-60 I would think would *usually* req a turbo... (check out the fastest time list at my350z)

As has been said before, it's the hp under the curve that matters (look at mean hp) - that's why the stillen can compete so well even though the peak hp is so much lower than the vortech: torque is high right from low rpms and stays up there.

Only 1 way to know for sure: I'm sure someone w/ a Vortech that has been to the track or has a Gtech on board will chime in here eventually...

just for reference, there's lots of people with 380-420whp vortech Z's doing 12.3-12.6's.

Not sure about G35's, but I'd guess they're .1-2 seconds slower due to weight

i suppose that seems reasonable with improved drivetrains, including the final drive in particular.

all stock except for Vortech hitting 12s though???

maybe im just recalling people w/ slipping belts etc

i don't know many people who run a bone stock car with a vortech. I think most of them are in the 13's though.

you could put a smaller pulley on the vortech, but without a bigger exhaust to get that air out easier, you're kinda shooting yourself in the foot for making more power

I remember seeing a FI shootout where the Vortech car ran a 12.8 1/4 mile. The 350z just had a Vortech. I think if G35s are breaking into the high 13s with N/A mods and about 250 rwhp, then I don't think breaking into the 12s will be a problem with 100 extra rwhp.

I would love to have a G35 Coupe that was capable of low 4's with only a Vortech supercharger. All of us would. However, it's not possible.

It's all about power/weight ratio.

My father's 2002 911 Turbo is capable of 4.0 (0-60), at least according to the manufacturer.

There's no way a supercharged G35 could come close to it.

Guess I'll just have to borrow his car if I want to feel that speed
