Lost rays lug nut key

I need some help. My g35 sedan got broken in to and they took my rays lug nut key. I need to get my wheels off but I don't have the key to do so. Is there anyone that can help me out with this problem? Anybody experience this? If so, can you PM me with info.

Your help would be appreciated.

Take it to a rim shop and have them break off the lugs

Naa, the correct way to remove lugs is with a slightly smaller socket. You knock it on your lugs with a hammer and unscrew the lug. Might take a while to get all the lugs off but it beats running around town looking for a lug nut key that might work....and never does. This needs to be a sticky cause it happens to almost everyone at sometime!

they sell keys on ebay, or pay a local shop to take them off.

Formula or just regular extended? Sometimes you can get just the keys from people.

Same thing happened to me with my regular extended ones so it was a pain trying to find a key to use the night I needed it. Luckily enough people use Rays lug nuts that it was pretty easy to find one.

So lets say you have Rays lugs and so does the guy down the street. However the guy down the street is a punk and wants to steal your rims.

If he has the key for his lugs, will it work and unlock for yours too? They are all the same? O_o thats not very safe....

I think there are slight variations for the keys, being that the little 'tooth' in the extended keys is slightly more to one side or the other. The key I used had the tooth ground down so that it could be used on all Rays extended lug nuts.

Seriously? I can't imagine how much someone would charge you to take those lugs off when you can do it for the cost of a socket! Don't be a bunch of *****'s, DIY!

^What he said. I fitted a socket that barely fitted, hammered it in with a rubber mallet and just removed the offenders, Socket costs maybe $4, better than $20 per lug that shops charge. Make sure you have lugs to replace.

PS don't even need to be hammered in far, just enough that it won't fall off. To remove lug from socket use a screwdriver or something and hammer through sock

I had this thread in mind today when I was at Lowes, various size sockets that will work were less than $5= each. Five dollars and an hour of your time maximum, to remove 20 lugs....does it get any easier/cheaper?
