Hmm....

I don't have anywhere to go this week in the car.
I think I will place my key on top of my quad-band phone overnight, and see if anything happens tomorrow
At least this way, I can be reasonably sure that I am safe (and I am pretty darn sure already. I think this is an issue for a super small, yet documented, set of owners)

I've been carrying my i-key in the same jacket pocket as my cell ever since getting the car in January. No problems so far, but will heed the warning in future!!!

Is this strictly for GSM phones, or do CDMA phones also cause a problem?

I know that if someone's GSM phone rings, my computers at work all go haywire. Electronics in their surroundings do experience their interference.
CDMA phones don't do this.

Also, I have my keyfobs on my nightstand, and they sit right next to my CDMA cellphone while charging.
During the day, I have my fob in my right pocket and my phone on my right hip.
No issues yet.

Just curious if everyone having this issue, do they all have GSM in common?

I have never, ever, ever, seen this. My company has a direct bill deal with Cingular (I never see a bill), so everyone I work with has a gsm phone. Most of us have quad band as we work internationally.

All - At this time, this minor issue is not be handled as a recall. Some cell phones, when within 1 inch of the intelligent key, can cause mixed signals, which ultimately might effect your seats, or even the key itself. For example, some TV remotes can also operate let's say a fan, or other small electrical device working on the same frequency. I've had no issues thus far. However, it's recommended that you keep your phone more than 1 inch away from your key.

The only '07 recall is with the coupe's headlight being to bright (recall number: 06V394000). No need to panic. : )

Really?
Anyone near me with a GSM phone, my monitors all go beserk, making whako buzzing noises whenever they update or ring.

In fact, sometimes when on conference calls, we can hear buzzing through the phones, and we all know what it is.
These GSM phones are constantly doing whatever the hell it is they do, and it makes everything around us buzz, squiggle and shake... sorta like digital crabs.

It would be interesting to know who the cell carrier is of those that have had a key malfunction.

So after 19 hours of setting the key directly on the phone, I am happy to say that everything is A OK.

In that time I received over 80 emails (smartphone), and I myself dialed the cell and made it ring a good 40 or 50 times.

Key works fine.

Same experience here.

Hey guys. I got my 07 G35X exactly a month ago. My primary i-key died this Thursday. Good thing i was at a restaurant only a block away from my house so I walked home and got the other one. The month Ive had it, I kept my keys right next to my company issued Cingular Treo 650 on my desk every night. This morning I went to the dealer and it took them 2 hours to reprogram both keys. It was of course free and they washed my baby really nice as well. They said it broke cuz of the phone and showed me the same flyer and the one posted above. They said they learned about this problem only a few days ago but already had a few people complain about this. So keep your keys away from your phones and hopefully some time before this fall well get even more intelligent Intelligent Keys.
