Backseat hammock/seat cover for dog?

Don't know why but it wont accept dog as a search term.

Anyway, has anyone had any luck with finding a good cover for the backseat? i bought one I thought would work but since the headrests dont move there is nothing to hook it on to. Are there any of the hammock style covers or even just a regular cover that will work with the hooks that are back there?

I use the Seat Saver from Duluth Trading Company.

This is actually an updated version of the one that I have, which is almost three years old now and still in great shape.

I would highly recommend it based on my experience...

I forgot to mention... The link above costs about $60.

The version that I have costs about $40 and can be viewed here:

This version does not allow access to the seat belts while in use, which is why I suggested the more expensive version.

Hey thanks very much, how does it hook into the backseat - in that picture it looks like around the headrests?? I have a bunch of websites I look at for this stuff but what I wanted to do was hear from people that actually have hooked these up to the eyelets or whatever those hooks are called since our headrests dont go up and down.

What I actually did was hook a pair of cheap carabiners to the child safety locks behind rear headrests. I then looped the seat saver around the carabiners.

I mainly use this setup in the wife's car since we usually use it for road trips. It does work in the G though.

I'll try to take some pictures tonight if you like.

No problem... I just have to remember to actually DO it...

It's hooked up in my wife's car at the moment, so I'll try to remember to take some pics tonight.

Ok... It is after 11 p.m. EST and I just got home. I forgot last night, so I wanted to go ahead and post something. These pics were taken in my wife's car, but the setup works the same in the G (though I think I had to find smaller carabiners)

pics didn't post as planned... The pics won't embed... It will only show the URLs, so I've attached the pics instead.

I can try to take some better ones in the daylight if you need them.
I hope this helps.

I used the latch seat anchors from petsmart. They were about $17 bucks apeice. I already had one so I just bought another. I just looped the straps into the hook. BTW I bought the cover from there also. It was just a cheap as anywhere on the net.

Thanks JS sorry I didnt post this earlier. I had a couple of old carabiners lying around and they did the trick with my wife's cover which is a hammock model. Seems to work great.

Glad to hear it.

I will check out the latch seat anchors that Nicky313 mentioned next time I am there. I didn't know they made such a thing.

The one thing about the hammock in the G35 is that it appears since you have to pull it further back to hook it to the anchors - vs latch it around the rear headrests as designed - you cant hook it to the front headrests as well. At least the two that I have it stretches it out too much and my 80lb beast cant get up there, so it ends up as more of a seat cover like in js's picture.
