lost OEM lug key :(

i cant figure out how or where i lost it, and i need to take off my OEM wheels soon to lower my BCs more, but i cant do anything without the lug key. Anyone know about this? Like do i have to get a whole new set of lug nuts w/ key, or would Infiniti be able to send me the matching key for the pattern on my OEM lugs? Any idea on cost?

thanks

This happened to me as well and I just went to the parts department and they brought out a whole bunch of key's to try on my wheels and they found a match. I just bought the key btw didn't have to buy new lug nuts.
keep us posted!

you basically have two options at the dealer,
Have them try out the master lock set, remove your old locks and give you a new set comes with key 45-60$
Have them try out the master lock set, find the number you need and have the dealership order a replacement, 7-10 days to get, 25-35$

and this is not an over the phone type transaction, you have to go to the dealer,
if you bought it new, you have a wheel lock key number tag in the literature kit/new owner package also

This happened to me too. I went to the dealer and I had them remove them and replace them with regular lug nuts. I must have caught them on a good day because they gave me all new lugs for free.

Not sure how the OEM G locks look, but if it's the same i used to have in my old Nissan (as well as an old Acura) you can grip them using Gator Grips.

They look like this Mike, might be hard to grip since the design is on the face and not the outer lip:

I say go down to the dealer and have them figure it out.

If you don't mind ruining them..just hammer on a tad smaller socket..they will be junk after (socket and lug)

Phil from Grubbs nailed it, but if you ever have to DIY, these work great, and you don't ruin a socket.

It looks similar, but hard to tell how thick those ridges are, i'd be interested in trying that someday.

Does Nissan have the same style lugs/locks? Jw cause my nearest Infiniti doesn't have a parts dept...or do I want service dept?

And no I would not be comfortable putting on regular lugs, I already have gotten free ones from the dealer but I want the security of knowing fewer wheel thieves have the appropriate key for the special lugs

999W2-JT000 - mag seat / shank lock nuts for v36 style wheels.

999H1-A7003 - acorn seat lock nuts for older v35 wheels.

The outside is totally smooth and cylindrical. The inside, where the design/pattern is, isn't too deep. I imagine you could get a needle nose plier in there, but I doubt you could grip it enough to turn it since it should be torqued to 80ft/lb
