07 g35x car battery drain issue

Everytime I leave the car undriven for a couple of days, the battery drains. This is my 3rd battery replacement in less then a year and everytime i get car it working, i forget to go to the shop to get it diagnosed.

1nd and 2nd battery, car make the clicking sound but didnt start so i tried to jump it but didnt help. took them to pepboys and they said its bad battery and gave me a warranty replacement

currently on 3rd battery didnt drive the car for a full day this time, went to go start it and just heard clicking but it didnt start. This time i did not try to jump it. I found a battery checker and seems like battery is good but its volts is low. going to go to pepboys to get it recharged later today.

I think my alternator might be going bad, and ideas on what can be the issue?

Bad alternator or bad belts

Have you ever replaced your belt tensioner? Have it checked. If the belt tension is too lose it may not spin the alternator fast enough to charge your battery properly.

Check your voltage while the car is running it should be a little over 14 volts. Start putting loads on it and then see if the voltage stays constant.

If it drops you're alternator is on it's way out most likely.

If you have a radar detector, some have voltage display. That's the display mode I keep it on and usually am able to catch charging problems early.

That said, there was a problem with 07's that also plagued the coupe. Unlike the coupe, it really wasn't acknowledged by Infiniti but many had issues. I bought my 07 brand new and even back then battery would drain after just sitting a few days--manifested itself with trouble starting in the very first winter when car starts can use every last cold cranking amp. In any case, for some it was a problem with the evap canistor solenoid going off after the car is off. There is a TSB I believe that specifies replacement. If need be, check the TSBs for the coupe. Not saying this is your problem but it fixed mine. I would highly suspect this if you have a new battery and the charging seems to be OK. As mentioned, voltage with the car running should be over 14V. Good luck.

so i found a battery tester and it seems like the charing system is good since its around 14v.. been driving it around for couple days now without a problem. now im thinking there may be something draining the battery even when the car is off. is there a way to test what it can be? also i dont have any check engine light

Do a voltage drain test. Disconnect the ground, put your meter to AMPs, connect one lead to post and other to cable, and then see what the measurement is. If the drain is high start pulling fuses and see which circuit is causing your problem and then go from there.

I'll have to find thread at some point but mine has always had a drain on it and left a trickle charger on when leaving. Speculation and possibly even a TSB... something about an EVAP solenoid back near the right rear part of gas tank that has some parasitic draw when car is off. I think there is a thread on here somewhere... I'm rarely on here anymore though.

Glad to hear you found it.... that adds another item to the list when this issue occurs.
