New Stuff: Hikkatadori "KS" Style Front Lip and Advan RS-D Wheels

I have been busy changing up a few things on my 09 G37 sedan (yes, I have a problem...). I have added the "Kenstyle" front lip that I got from Kris79 on here (I believe this is a Hikkatadori, but let me know if not and I will change this). It is a replica/copy of the Kenstyle front lip. I am also in the process of changing out my 19" Volk GT-S wheels for some 20" Advan RS-D wheels (Machined Black). Sorry, the wheels pics are just teasers for now (I am waiting on tires for another week or so).

In regards to the lip, the fitment was not very good, and I would not get it unless you have an experienced body person that can work with fiberglass. My guy had to hack it into several pieces, and do a lot of re-work. The guy that did mine is really good, and I trust him. He also did all the work for a great price, but this was easily $800-$1000 worth of work anywhere else (about 12-16 of work on fitment, plus paint and install). Overall mine turned out great, and I am very happy. I have no issues recommending the front lip as long as you know what you are getting into. I knew going in that even the best fiberglass replica's require work. Hikkatadori makes pretty good stuff, but this still needs some work. Here is the story....

Fitment was off around the front side ducts by at least a 1/2":

The "posts" also did not extend up all the way to the top of the opening (they were about a 1/4" to 1/2" short):

So, he hacked off the pieces that did not fit and extended, filled, molded, and fiberglassed, etc....

And it turned out like this:

The finished pics are crappy, and I will get better ones once I get the new wheels on and the car cleaned up. Overall, it turned out great. The work he did is impossible to see, and the paint quality/color match is spot on.

Speaking of wheels, here is a little teaser....

Advan RS-D's 20x9 +25 and 20x10 +35 (Machined Black). Tires will be 245/35 and 275/30 Yokohama S-Drives (hurry up Discount Tire).

always sad to see a fellow GTS go bye bye, but the new wheels should look great on the car.
and wow, that looks like a fair amount of work that was involved to make that KS replica fit, but from the pix, it looks spot on now

The GT-S's are going to another G37 owner. I should be shipping them out today (maybe tomorrow). The guy has a white 2010, and they should look great on his car.

Thanks for the donor lip, and a preview of what the lip looks like.

They are machined black which is a machined lip (not quite polished) and more of a gloss black spoke.

Wheels are 20x9 +25 and 20x10 +35 (tires will be 245/35 and 275/30), and they will be installed as soon as the tires arrive (one is on back order and should be in within the next week or so.... I am waiting not so patiently).

dont you think 275 might be too wide? maybe a 255 tire would be a better fit.

after thinking about it. I think it just might work perfectly, but of course -3 camber...

I wanna see them mounted.

I think I can get the 275 on the rear with a little over -2 degrees, but we will see. For now, I am going to have to run enough to make them fit, although I may go down to a 255 next time if I am way over -2 degrees. I would prefer to keep the camber under -2 degrees if at all possible.

I am flush with a 9.5+37 and a 275 tire now at about -1.6 degrees. So, these new wheels will stick out about 8mm further, but I will get a little more stretch with the 10" wheel this time (I figure about 2-3mm worth). So really I need to make up for around an additional 5mm by dialing in more negative camber....
