Z tube and KN filter vs pop charger vs stillen cold air intake system

Which is better to do on an 05 G35 coupe 6mt. I am concerned about cost vs performance. I have recently learned of the Z tube and think that i am leaning more towards that. However, I am currious about the opinions of those who have done other wise.

I like the Stillen. Might be a bit more, but it has a heat shield. Ya don't want hot air getting sucked into your intake.

I've had both, and there is not much of a difference in power(2-3 hp). Z-tube with oem panel K&N is much more quiet. Both are good options. If you plan on getting an ecu reflash, get the Stillen. A lot of people have complimented me on the sound of my car after the Stillen was installed. But, If your not into that, Z-tube and K&N is the way to go.

In the last two weeks I have added the Z-tube, Stillen Air box (k&n filter)
and a Borla cat-back system. At lower RPM's it sounds great and at higher RPM's
it almost sounds stock. You don't need the MAN pulling you over on the freeway.
I've found the sound I have been looking for!

The Injen CAI intake is very popular - might want to add it to your list before making a final decision. I don't have any personal experience with it (but the dyno #s posted appear impressive).

I did the z-tube and K&N as the first mods to my 05 AT last week and am very happy with them both. Can't really say if there was a performance improvement because (a) I'm still in the break in period and (b) anyone who thinks they can feel 2 rwhp are trying really hard to justify whatever money they just spent. That being said, there is a noticable change in (the sound of) intake air flow, flow in the Z-tube is obviously less turbulant than the stock G-tube, and for the cost of a K&N you can't beat having a lifetime filter. Just my 2 cents.

For the Z-Tube,

I got mine, plus the K&N filter, from performancenissanparts.com

Very professional, and fast shipping. Good prices, too.

Availability is sometimes an issue with a lot of these companys. I purchased
my Borla cat-back system, Z-tube and the Stillen air box (K&N) from everythingg35.com cheaper than from Stillen. And there's a choice of how fast you
want it delivered.

To Stillen or not to Stillen?

I currently have the Z tube and K&N panel filter, I don't see anybody that has posted any dyno or detailed info on the Stillen set-up. I am considering the Stillen but it is kind of pricey, some feedback on this particular intake would be great. I just hate to spend the cheddar if it doesn't make any more power. I noticed that Stillen claims 11 hp but we all know how claims are.

New "Z" tube and "Air Hog" installed

I just installed the factory "Z" tube and a Fram "Air Hog" on my 04 AT. The sound is stock at idle but at 3200 RPM the sound is more aggressive. Not much louder, but a deeper tone coming from under the hood.

I went with the "air hog" because it was 1/2 the price of K&N and available at my local parts store. The flow is the same for both filters so I decided to save a few bucks.
