BEST recommendation for warped rotors

Hey guys,

SO I have 11k miles on my 08 g35x and the rotors are warped as ish. Now I don't really want to go to the dealer and pay to have the rotors cut when it's only a temporary fix. I'm running the stock 17s and I really can't afford to upgrade to a BBK and buy new wheels/tires. What would be my BEST option here? I really don't want this to happen again. Post links if possible thanks.

If there's enough material left (and there should be if this is the first time), take it somewhere else and have the rotors turned. You don't necessarily have to do it at the dealership (and get raped in the process).

You're not alone on this one.
Mine warped at about 25K and the dealer turned them for free.
The problem came back (you can't turn a warped rotor without it coming back) at about 30K. Dealer replaced them under warranty.

I'm not at 38K and although they are not warped, I can feel they're not perfect anymore.
WTF with these crap rotors.
I'm in the same boat... I'll need good aftermarkets. I'm done with these useless OEMs.

^Do you know if they have Powerslot rotors for the Sport? I'm in the same situation as the OP but, having a difficult time finding rotors that fit the 07 Sport that is not a big brake kit. Rumor has it that the G37 non-sport should fit but, I have no proof.

at 11k miles, you can probably swing a warranty resurface at the dealer.

Warped Rotors....NBFD!

Warped rotors are caused by two issues, poor quality forging and some jack azz installing your wheels with a impact gun or both! You can get Infiniti to turn your rotors under warranty. That's not a quick fix, they might last for another 30K+ miles. If anyone removes your wheels make sure they're put back on with a torq wrench set on 85. I had this issue with my last Z and it still had the same turned rotors on it at 125K miles when I sold it!

It can also be a result of repeated high speed braking, over a period of time of course

Look into some EBC rotors - they're not very expensive and are excellent performance rotors.

No, the G37 Akebono's use a 14" rotor in front.

Are they TRUELY warped? In about 80% of the cases, they are not. What happens is when you get them REAL hot, and you sit still with the brakes applied, you get pad material "transfer" to the rotor. They are not warped, just got pad compound on them. It's a simple thing to take them off and sand them down or go to a reputable auto parts store and have them shave a couple of thousandths off of them.

One way to fix it:

using an impact to install the wheels is a completely acceptable way of doing things. I have put on countless rims on this way, and havent had any customers come back with warpage issues. the ones that do come in with pulsation issues show evidence that the customers put their braking system to good use

heat warps rotors.

they make a tool called a torque stick. this puts a cap on the amount of twist that the impact can muster. this also keeps the torque quite even across each lug, without the use of a torque wrench.

heat is the enemy.
