DIY: How to BLACK OUT rear emblems in MINUTES

I've been meaning to post this up for a while now, just haven't had the time to do it.... so now that I have a flu, and I wake up at the most random times... I figured I'd do it now... than never.

You can pick up a can of plastidip from the paint department of any home building store (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.)

In case you don't know what plastidip is... it's rubberized paint originally used to coat the grip of tools, until it was made in a spray form and fell into the hands of a car guy... and well the possibilities are endless. This stuff will peal off on demand with no issues as long as the coats are thick enough.

Sorry for the cell phone quality pics.

Is there anything that PlastiDip cannot do?

Looks good. Thanks for the pics.

Nice write-up! Did you have to score the edges at all? Seems like when you pull the overspray, the letters would go with it.

Do you have any pics from further back, so we can get a better idea of the overall look?

Any word on how the PlastiDip holds up under washing? Seems like you might go over it a little too vigorously and it would peel right off. Or at least it would flake or pull up at the edges. The smaller "INFINITI" lettering particularly worries me.

It looks great, though.

I plastidipped the emblems on my CLS55 back in November, and it held up through a hand carwash weekly till the day I sold it.

Same with my G sedan, I did it the first day I got the car, and it held up till I removed them to replace them with gunmetal painted ones.
