Review: I replaced the OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL42 after 50k miles. I probably had about 5k~10k miles left in it, but the noise for the past 10k miles was unbearable. They were decent tires except for the noise and one of my rear tire kept on losing air (no holes, always stayed around 25 psi
). I went to America's Tire and got a set of these YK520's.
First of all, I don't drive crazy all over the place. Second, I don't believe in getting Michelin Pilot Sport unless you do decent amount of spirited driving. Ok, first impression, MUCH MORE quiet, but this is compared to my old EL42's which I am assuming were all out of wack due to age. Second, my ride was much firmer, which I wanted very much. The Yoko's have a threadwear rating of 520, so I assume it has a harder compound. The Yoko's don't make squeaking noises when I am making a new turn. The EL42's did. Wet Traction, ok I guess. I tend to drive slow in the rain, and I haven't hydroplaned so I guess it's good! Snow, no experience. With a mileage warranty of 60,000, I expect it to last that long. I haven't pushed the tires to its limits, so I dont know the performance aspect of it yet.. but all in all.. it's a good cruising tire.. it also has a rim protector, so it looks nicer/wider
